Gotowebinar Price Increase

Everywhere you look in the internet marketing world, you will find people talking about how useful webinars are for getting your message across, or training, or whatever else is the latest thing. The very next sentence usually points you to gotowebinar.com for a great way to make this happen.

So, here’s the blow. Gotowebinar just announced a five-fold price increase for running a webinar up to 1000 attendees. Up until now it has been $99 and will go up to $499 from now on.

You will no doubt be told that even $499 is good for the potential that it offers, but it will still smart to know that others are still on the old rate.

Well, after a bit of searching, I can tell you that there is a way out. You have precisely 8 days to get signed in at the old rate and it will stay at that price until you drop out of the program.

Run over to http://www.gotowebinar.com/s/TAF and you can get in and even get a 45 day trial before it starts charging you.

Send me your enormous gratitude up until the end of the month!

Using Presentations in Internet Marketing

Over the last few days, I got directed to these fantastic short videos on using video itself in marketing. They have been made by Andy Jenkins and you’ll recognise his voice from so many of the Stompernet videos….and the high-quility of the videos themselves.

In the most recent one, he gives a really detailed breakdown on getting video right, by just using a presentation as a way to sell. Then he talks about how easy it is to “just” use Keynote or Powerpoint to do this.

Well, that’s a great theory….but let’s face it, Powerpoint is just not up to the job – yet! It will do the slides, sure, but the transitions and animations do not make it a good movie-making helper.

So, in the interests of getting us all up to the same quality of tools before we start, I went looking around.

Microsoft have said that Powerpoint 2010 will be better at it, but I can’t wait. So I eventually found Sliderocket – one of those new-fangled “in the cloud” type of Adobe Air application that will give you a network way to do it all. I have to say it’s looking good. I am going to play with it for a while before making a final analysis but it has to be worth a try if you want to get stuff looking as good as Andy’s…….and I do want you to do that.

Please, no more plain black and white presentations where you just read the bullets. Watch Andy’s videos over at  The Videoboss and just make them look incredible!

Meeting the Gurus – Part Two

So, if you’ve read my last post you may be thinking what a cynical guy I am right now. I need to quickly put up a balancing viewpoint based on some emails I’ve had over the last 24 hours.

Let me say, right now, that paying for time is just one way to meet the experts. It’s not the only way, but it is true that many of them are so busy that they just don’t have time to interact with every single person that comes their way.

On the other hand, sometimes you will meet folk who are just happy to help (almost at any cost). I wanted to put Robert Plank up for one of those awards.

I spent some time looking at his PLR Copywriting course just before I got into Chris Freville’s program and as a result I dropped him an email to say that I couldn’t do both, but how good it had looked….especially with the amount of PLR that I’m using at the moment.

He came back with several emails of encouragement and was very understanding (about missing out on my cash!). So, here’s to you Robert….you get a “sound bloke” award from the UK.

If you’re interested in looking at Robert and Lance’s PLR course, you should head over here -> PLR Copywriting The offer is open until Tuesday, so it’s short notice I know, but everything I have seen (including the late night webinar they ran) makes me think it would be a great investment. I’ll be re-visiting my involvement when I finish working with Chris.

Discover The Secret To Working With Great Internet Marketers

One of the challenges to your early life in the IM world is just how you get to meet some of these “greats” that you hear so much about. These are the marketers that have made it already, whose names you see all the time in your email.

Well, I’ll tell you one way that works. (Disclaimer here, there may be others!)

Are you ready?

Pay them!

There, that seems simple-minded doesn’t it, but actually one of the things it does is signal that you are prepared to invest in yourself as much as you are in their product. If you are in a coaching program for 8 weeks and you have a chance to make a face-to-face meeting then you have earned that right – so do it!

Don’t back out at that point, making excuses about the time it will take because, like it or not, this industry runs on relationships as much as any other business.

So, what am I getting at here. Well, on a personal level, I’ve just signed up for a 6 month Mastermind group with Chris Freville here in the UK that I am really looking forward to. Apart from the pressure to perform and actually get on with it, I’m going to find meeting up with like-minded internet marketers a great way to break out of the “working alone in a bedroom” syndrome that this business brings.

Pearl of the Pacific - Boracay

What’s just as awesome is that I’m also off to the Philippines for John Jonas’ outsourcing retreat in March. I spent some time in September last year working with someone out there after signing up for his “outsource myself” program. I’m hoping to find someone more appropriate to work with me this time round, but again, I’m looking to meet folk from around the world who are going to the event….

….oh yes. I’m also going to enjoy a bit of a holiday!

If you’re stuck in London as an Internet Marketer, thinking that you never get to see others doing the same as you…let me know…I’m easily convinced that a chat over a beer is a good thing .
